OK, full disclosure alert, I am a complete Climb On addict, but there's a good reason - the stuff is fantastic. I took 2 tiny little samples of the sunscreen with me to the Mojave desert in July and used it sparingly all over my face, neck, shoulders and arms every day, and never felt unprotected. Because of the beautiful oils it is made with, it allows some color to emerge while protecting you, so I came home from the bone dry blazing desert with a gorgeous glowing tan and still managed to look younger than before. Love, love, love this stuff.
I purchased "Climb On!" because it had an overall score of 1 with the Environmental Working Group (EWG) - 1 being their best score. This sunscreen has a nutty like fragrance, but no smell once rubbed in. It goes on light and blends well under makeup. It's not greasy, but slightly oily which gives the skin a healthy glow. A little goes a long way; it glides on easy. My face is sensitive to occasional rosacea flareups and this sunscreen did not cause any irritation. I sometimes use CeraVe moisturizing lotion before applying sunscreen.UPDATE: I purchased a 2nd tube of Climb On. This batch had grainy white bits and the oil separated. After squeezing the tube several times the oil blended, but not the grainy particles. I really like this product, so I'm ordering it a 3rd time, and hope the next tube doesn't have grainy particles (the granules were the size of fine salt).UPDATE: Purchased my 3rd tube of Climb On. This batch is creamy with hardly any fragrance and goes on smooth. The formulas seem to vary slightly. This one feels fine.
I am allergic to titanium dioxide and have been looking for a non-chemical sunscreen, which is always zinc, with no titanium dioxide that does not have nano-particles in it. I have been searching for that plus one that is affordable and isn't greasy and doesn't turn you an opaque white. After a long search, I have found my sunscreen and am Oh So Happy!
