How does the Kahtoola MICROspikes Traction System Work?
This is the best part - the MICROspikes Traction System is one piece and yes, they can fit into your pocket. Just slip the spikes over your shoes and the built-in toe bar and flexible elastomer will keep your spikes in place, even when walking or running downhill. If you're a wintertime runner, our spikes are an ideal take-along for any run. Don't let winter slow down your stride when you come across some ice. Grab your spikes and go - there's nothing out of reach.
Multipurpose Meets Minimalist
Running, walking the dog, shoveling the drive way or what ever your adventure is, Kahtoola's MICROspikes Traction System covers it. They're a multipurpose, pocket-sized slip-on that doesn't require anything fancy to make them work. Just step your shoe or boot in and go - adventure should always be this easy!

Great for ice fishing, I like the easy on easy off deal.
I will use these around my horse farm after ice storms and freezing rain make certain areas as slippery as an ice skating rink. Life savers! Easy to put on -- seem well made and sturdy for the job. I've only used them once-- so far-- since purchase, but I suspect they will hold up well for winter seasons yet to come.
Use for hiking snow slops. It does what it supposed to do. Great job.
I use these micro spikes for climbing the Manitou Incline and Barr Trail in Colorado during the winter. These spikes are the best, period.
I got these for hiking in New Hampshire, looking forward to using them this weekend.
Good product for casual hiker, find them awkward to put on and remove...biggest concern is the rubber breaking on trail...decided to upgrade to the K10 as they work with multiple boots and have clips
A necessity for winter hiking.
Used in tropics for hiking in wet and muddy conditions.
These walking/hiking micro spikes are the best! Easy to put on and they make your winter hiking stress free with no fear of slipping and/or falling. A little pricey but they're worth every penny.
I bought a pair of these several months ago and now have at least 100 miles through snow and ice with them. While watching other hikers slip, slide, and fall I was able to walk right on through with no issues. The Kahtoola's have gotten me through some hairy trail situations. I saw another review where they hurt his feet. I typically hike with mid-weight hiking boots which do not have a shank in the sole and have never experienced any discomfort. They also seem very strong and show little signs of wear thus far. I can't imagine winter hiking without them.
These are the only microspikes suitable for hiking. I've tried other cheaper alternatives but they just were not robust enough to stand up and they always failed within a year. My original pair of Kahtoola's are still going strong after a couple of years with literally hundreds of miles on them.
