Awesome all around shoe. It can do anything. Except that it had straps which could potentially wear out in cracks, they do have a lace version of this shoe.
I sized down 3 EU sizes from my street shoe (7.5) based on the Sportiva sizing chart and the shoes fit perfectly snug! I don't believe these have a liner, they feel thinner than my other pair of anasazi lvs. Rubber is super sticky. Excited to try these out at the gym and see whether they stretch out over time.
This is my second pair of Katanas. I like that they are moderately aggressive because it fits my moderately aggressive climbing style!
Katanas used to be my favorite climbing shoe, and they are either #1 or #2 having possibly been dethroned by the Miuras. They perform a little less well than Miuras, but may still be the better all around shoe. I use them to lead at my limit, and suspect I can wear them longer than the Miuras because of the less aggressive downturn. They also don't look as scrucnhed up and used from wearing because it is not as downturned. At first I wore a size 33 in Katanas (size 4.5 women's foot/size 34.5-35) but then they started to feel small, I guess they never expanded, so I wear a size 33.5 and they are perfect. I suspect 34 would be too large. Funny, because I wear a size 34 in Miuras. I actually have the older blue style, and when I ordered another pair from GearCoop it was under the Pink/White but I got sent a blue - which I prefer, because the straps are leather. I am not sure if the new Pink/White Katanas have leather straps or not, but the Miuras' non-leather strap shows a lot of wear at the metal buckle area, while the Katana's leather straps are still going strong.
