Lightweight, compact, pear-shaped screw-lock carabiner

Thanks to its compact shape and SCREW-LOCK locking system, the ATTACHE is designed for multiple uses related to belaying: connecting a belay system to a harness, belaying with a Munter hitch... It has an H cross section to reduce weight, as well as the Keylock system to avoid the carabiner snagging during maneuvers.

Carabiner optimized for lightness and durability:
Very compact shape is ideal for belay stations
H-shaped cross section offers an improved strength/weight ratio
wider contact surfaces for better rope glide and reduced wear on the carabiner

Easy to use, for efficient handling:
SCREW-LOCK locking sleeve for good handling and effective locking
visual indicator facilitates checking that the carabiner is locked
nose and Keylock system helps avoid the carabiner snagging during maneuvers
carabiner designed for better rope glide and to ensure good positioning of the belay device
shape adapted for easy tying or untying of a clove hitch

Certification(s): CE EN 362, CE EN 12275 type H, UIAA 121

I bought this for one reason: too often, I'd look down and discover that I'd crossloaded my Grigri on my Black Diamond RockLock carabiner. That rarely happens with this Attache, perhaps because it's significantly smaller and the twist-lock extends further down.Relative to conventional carabiners, this one is an 'HMS' model shaped for smooth operation with the Munter Hitch, a knot that can take the place of a belay device in a pinch. Weight is 77g, a bit above Black Diamond's comparable Mini Pearabiner (69g) and Petzl's more expensive Attache 3D (54g). Gate clearance is superb and the long twist-lock makes this the easiest carabiner in this size class to use one-handed.Why else opt for the Attache? The locking threads are relatively aggressive, so you don't spend forever twirling the lock as you would with a Mad Rock. There's a red marker to alert you when it's unlocked. If you don't mind the weight and aren't using it as the central feature in a multi-rope anchor (see Petzl's William for that), there's little reason to prefer any other carabiner. Five stars.

I use two of these 'biners in my master point of my anchor. They are very smooth so the rope never catches on them, and rope wear on the 'biner is very minimal. Highly recommend these 'biners to anyone!
