CYNTHIA

Gear Coop Accounting

I grew up in the Southern California area in the Inland Empire and ended up in the Orange County area after completing my bachelor's in Business at California State University Fullerton. I love music of all kinds and my friends often refer me as the human "Yelp." I love a good bargain whether it be on clothing items or food. I think adventure is the spice of life.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BOULDERING?

Three and a half years.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TO BOULDER?

3-4x times a week in the gym. Sporadically, depending on the weather, outdoor a few times a month.

HOW DID YOU LEARN?

I started at Rock City in Anaheim, CA.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO BOULDER?

Keeps my mind and body in shape. It always challenges and helps have personal growth. Great personal relationships with friends in the sport.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FUTURE PLANS?

Climb stronger and continue to do it as long as I enjoy just doing it.

WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO GO BOULDERING?

Since going outside is difficult sometimes, I do not mind going to the gym at all. I visit several local gyms in the Southern California area.

WHERE IS YOUR DREAM PLACE TO DO A CLIMBING TRIP?

Asia and Europe.

WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT AS A BOULDERER?

My two proudest moments are the first time I sent a v4 inside a gym after being in a plateau for a few months and the first time I completed a project outdoors.

ANY SCARY MOMENTS?

The scariest moment is when I was on top of this tall boulder outdoors and the holds felt as if they were about to break off. The next move felt so far away, but I gave a leap of faith and completed the problem making it scary and awesome at the same time.

WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL?

I am effervescent. My spirit animal would be a wolf.

my 5 must-haves

  • SCARPA BOOSTICS

Overall a great sending shoe. They fit my narrow skinny foot. They also have great features from edging to heel. Perfect to help send those tough projects.
  • PRANA HALLE PANT

My favorite climbing/hiking pant. Light weight, comfortable, stretchy, and durable. The ends of the pants roll up to become capris during warm weather and back down to normal pants when the temps lower.
  • STONELICK GORDITA CRASH PAD

I really like the foam on this pad. It durable and thick but not too hard. The interlocking folding means there is no space or gap between the fold in the crash pad for a even surface to be able to catch your fall.
  • CAMP CHALK BLOCK

Affordable, good consistently, and stays put on my hands. This chalk creates good fiction and can fit for someone who likes a finer chalk. The block breaks down easily.
  • ORGANIC CHALK BAG

Durable material, great size, and great closing string on the bag to keep chalk in.
