I'm a 28year old trad climber and ski mountaineer, still in school because I'm having too much fun exploring. Surf, yoga, skydive, and run when I'm not working, studying, climbing, or skiing. I don't sleep a lot.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SKIING AND CLIMBING?
I've been climbing for a little over two years and skiing for 2 years (but I spent 15 years snowboarding...ahh the dark ages)
HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET OUT AND CLIMB?
I climb 3-4 days every week but too much of that is inside, outside is where it counts.
HOW DID YOU LEARN?
Mostly self-taught, with a lot of good fortune in the beginning.
WHY DO YOU LOVE TO CLIMB?
I love pushing myself physically and mentally in the outdoors and I love heights.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FUTURE PLANS?
Big mountains, world travel, and continuing to climb with my best friends.
WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO GO CLIMB?
Too many...The Sierra, Tahquitz, Jtree, Red Rocks, Needles, Whitney Portal.
WHERE IS YOUR DREAM PLACE TO DO A CLIMBING TRIP?
Cirque of the Unclimbables, Alaska, Himilaya.
WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT AS A CLIMBER?
Exposing less experienced people to the beauty and solitude of the mountains.
ANY SCARY MOMENTS?
Lots...that's what makes it fun. Maybe lightning strikes on top of SE Face of Clyde Minaret.

my 5 must-haves
PATAGONIA R1My favorite piece of clothing, great by itself for lots of climbing adventures and ski touring but excellent as a layer as well. I wear mine religiously.
BLACK DIAMOND DISTANCE FL TREKKING POLESI used to make fun of people that used trekking poles, now I may be their largest proponent. If I forget them I might change plans and sleep instead of hike. Dogs are onto something with four wheel drive.
BLACK DIAMOND C3I love them and nothing places like they do. They are always on my rack, especially yellow, red, and green.
CAMP PINK TRICAMNatural and uncontrived placements for this baby in my group of friends equals a beer at the bar so she gets placed frequently. Tricams were the first pieces I bought when I started climbing because I couldn't afford cams.
MIURA LACEUnquestionably my absolute favorite shoe to climb in. Comfortable enough for all day trad adventuring, but aggressive enough to give me confidence pulling hard moves, plus I like the way I look in them.
