What We're Looking For:
Purchasing and Inventory
- Work with the buying team to execute day to day buying activities
- Prepare and report on regular replenishment orders and pre-season orders and forecasts
- Research, implement, and keep track of category purchasing, demand planning, and logistics
- Communicate effectively with key suppliers to review and resolve any discrepancies

Business Development & Strategic Planning
- Analyze and be on the lookout for exciting new business opportunities
- Develop sales and business development strategies to firmly position Gear Co-op as a leading retailer of outdoor gear within the industry
- Stay on top of competitors' promotions, sales, and growth

Merchandising
- Ensure products are merchandised properly on website, Amazon.com, and in-store
- Analyze sales figures and trends to anticipate future product needs, identify emerging industry trends, and prioritize areas of focus

What You've Got:
- 3-5 years of experience as a professional buyer in the outdoor industry
- Excellent presentation, negotiations and strategic planning skills
- Very strong Excel skills and sales analysis and forecasting prowess
- Experience with Amazon sales and fulfillment services a big plus
- Adaptability to effectively manage within a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment
- Ability to plan, assess, and implement change
- Rock-solid business and financial acumen
- Great reputation as both a team leader and team player
- An unquenchable passion for the outdoors that manifests in your love of climbing, backpacking, backcountry skiing, mountaineering, and other outdoor sports REQUIRED!

Assistant Buyer (Full Time)

You prefer a sleeping bag to an actual bed. Your "gear-age" has ousted your car to the driveway. A weekend spent indoors is a waste of two good days. There is no greater feeling than fresh powder, crystalline granite, or a rough-hewn trail. For you, there is no such thing as "off-season."

Who are you? You're a serious outdoor enthusiast who wants to just mess with gear all day, every day. You've honed your customer service skills behind a register or walking retail floors. Bonus: you've got exceptional analytical skills, seasoned either through education or just real-world experience.

Shipping Associate (Part Time Seasonal)

Every week, you count down the minutes until you can crush at the crag. Your closet floor is littered with shoes of three categories: climbing, approach, and hiking. Your favorite accessory is a sticker-covered 32 ounce Nalgene bottle. Your perfect getaway is a solo excursion along the John Muir trail or up the face of Half Dome. You’ve logged almost as many miles hiking as your car has driving. Who are you? You’re up with the sun because it’s the best time for everything you love to do: hike, bike, climb, surf, whatever. Nothing energizes you better than a brand new day. You want to get up close and personal with the latest and greatest in outdoor gear to jump-start a career in the industry. You don’t mind dealing with boxes all day as long as your coworkers are awesome to be around. Sound about right? What We're Looking For:
Shipping Coordination
- Deal with large incoming vendor shipments and customer return shipments
- Sort incoming shipments, reconcile vendor packing slips, and report any inconsistency
- Ensure correct products go to fulfillment center warehouses across the country
- Handle purchase orders and packing slips
- Check-in customer returns

Customer Service
- Assist customer service with product issues
- Assess condition of customer returns and coordinate with Customer Service personnel
