DETAILS

Updated for 2014! The Tikkina headlamp is perfect for proximity lighting: whether for camping, in a hut, or for emergencies, its compact size and wide beam make it an excellent everyday headlamp. Maximum brightness is 60 lumens, with a range of 30 meters. This headlamp has two lighting modes to adapt the brightness to each situation.
Short Description
  • Ambient mode: wide beam with reduced brightness, avoids blinding others in a group situation and provides longer battery life
  • Proximity lighting mode: wide comfortable beam for close-range vision
  • Push button for easy, quick lighting mode selection
  • Elastic headband adjusts easily
  • Power: 3 AAA batteries

I purchased and used this light for a camping trip. It worked like a charm. It lit the entire area from the ground up. I'm not exactly certain how far in front of me, but I was able to see quite a ways in front, and the ground of a thick grassed/weeded area. I highly recommend this headlamp for night outdoors use.

This headlamp works great. I had a previous headlamp that was terrible (didn't shine very far, spotty, not adjustable). I am so happy with this headlamp. The light is perfectly blended from bright in the middle of your view to dim at the edge of your vision. The first setting (dim) is great for close proximity activity and the second setting (bright) is great for walking and it really shines quite far.

I just purchased one after owning over 4 petzl lamps over the last 10 years ...this one is one of the best for at campsite, home emergencies, car...only thing i didn't like on this model is you have to go over the high beam before shutting it off.
