The original Aliens were a revolution in their own right, but the new Alien Revo goes even further. A narrower head fits even trickier placements while a more ergonomic, easier-to-grab thumbloop lets you get it in that placement quicker than before. Add to that a 20% weight reduction, stronger aluminum swages and trigger components, and new replacable steel trigger wires, and the Revo is set to take the original Alien's place as the favorite small cam of hardcore trad climbers. Available with single or double slings and in a hybrid version.

Improvement on an attempted improvement

The Fixe remake of the classic CCH Aliens don't need much of an introduction. They're classic and excellent. But in an attempt to make them better, Fixe changed the original in several ways in hopes of make them lighter. The result, the Alien Evo (or Evo-Lite I think they were calling them) was generally a flop. They were a touch lighter, but plastic components had major durability problems and they sort-of became laughing stock. The product here, the FIxe REvo is kind of like a Re-do (get it Revo, Redo?) of the Evo. In the end, Fixe made a good cam with the Revo, it just took a couple tires. If you're not sure the history makes for a confidence inspiring purchase, check out the Totem "Basic" Cam - a lame name but an excellent version of the alien.
