Great comfy shoe that performs !

Some thoughts after owning 2 pairs of the Skwamas: -Coming from shoes like the Miura that took forever to break in, the Skwamas were comfortable right out of the box. Really soft shoe. -Compared to the 5.10 Hiangles, I felt like the fit of the shoe was more refined as an experience (in terms of the stitching of the inside and material). It felt more premium. I love how NOT bulky these shoes are -After a couple months of sessions, the shoe does stretch out, and it was time to move on to the next shoe when i needed a little more downturned support. But it still is a great shoe so it became my gym shoe. -I have been meaning to drop half a size to see how that goes for my 3rd pairs of these shoes, but I also dont mind staying comfortable. I also love the pricepoint of these shoes. -Toe hook rubber is to the point and still lets you feel the rock. -La Sportiva heels have always had a nice fit for me, but can be a little "fat" when trying to heel hook into a narrow crack (which then a narrower heel on the Scarpa shoes worked better) Over all, i think i will always love this shoe, and will be in my bag if i have one in good shape.

    Great all-around shoe with performance

The skwama represents a perfect all-around shoe in my opinion. Not only is it an aggressive shoe, it it incredibly sensitive. Unlike it's cousin the Solution, you can feel the rock on both the toe and your heel. I use them for both hard bouldering and tough shorter trad climbs. Although the shoe lends itself to more bouldering and sport climbs, I love them climbing in thin cracks too. These shoes do stretch so don't be afraid to downsize a little. They should mold to your feet within a couple weeks.

A soft and comfortable shoe with shockingly high-performance features.

As a bouldering-focused climber, I'm constantly looking for the perfect high-performance climbing shoe. Of course, because everyone's feet differ, it's important (especially if you are young and still growing) to have something comfortable. After years of learning to ignore varying degrees of discomfort, the Skwama spoiled me nearly rotten. I have wide toes that are most comfortable splayed out, a high arch, and a narrow, low-volume heel. Until trying these shoes, I had all but given up on finding an aggressive shoe that would fit me comfortably. My street shoe is 8-8.5 Men's US, and I downsize to 37.5 EU. They fit very snug front to back out of the box, but will stretch and seemingly mold to envelop your foot perfectly over the first approximately 10-15 sessions climbing in it. I recommend going at least a half-size down from your normal La Sportiva size, as they will continue to stretch throughout their lifespan, though the velcro strap keeps everything snug. The S-Heel is so positive it almost feels like cheating, and the P3 system helps the Skwama keep its aggressive shape long after even the rubber goes on the toes. My only regret is that there is no slightly stiffer version of this shoe, as it demands more power out of the climber, especially if one is used to wearing stiffer shoes.
