The overall quality, technical attributes, and value of the Rab Microlight Jacket are good. I purchased the jacket primarily for daily wear and to have a lightweight travel jacket that would compress into a small package, it meets those criteria well. My main issue with the Rab Microlight is that it fits a bit tight around the armpits, other than that it fits true to size. If the arm openings were a bit more generous it would be an excellent jacket. If you plan to layer much more than a mid-weight shirt under it I would purchase one size up. I normally wear an XL and ordered an XL; I am 5'9" tall, weigh 200 lbs, with a 45" chest. I am mixed on whether I would recommend it to others, primarily due to the tightness around the armpits. As far as the warmth, I have used it in temps low as 25 degrees F and it works quite well at those temps; the Pertex Microlight fabric seems to do a pretty good job of shedding light rain. I have not not yet used it hiking, backpacking, or for any extended moderate aerobic activity, so cannot comment on how well it works under those conditions.
