Great shoes, very stiff, ill fitting heel

The solutions are powerful, great shoes that are high performance, perfect for steep bouldering or sport climbing. I'm a size 7.5 in street shoe, I wear a size 38 in these shoes. They sacrifice sensitivity for power and stiffness. They have issues with the heel cup - it's very bulging and bulbous, leaving many people including myself with dead space in the heel. These causes a "farting sound," but more importantly leaves room for the heel to wiggle and slip out of the shoe, even when tightened and properly downsized, which happened to me often. Fantastic shoes though. I converted to the women's version for additional sensitivity and a smaller heel, and finally to the Scarpa VSRs.

the solution to climbing

originally I wore the mens solutions and then converted to the womens solution. This shoe fits my bunion feet perfectly with precise edging and smearing. I confidently wear these bouldering at Hueco Tanks to climbing on plastic to leading a friction slab at Lumpy Ridge.

The solution

It's hard to say anything bad about La Spoetiva, they really are the best shoe makers in the sport. I wish this shoe wasn't pink, I absolutely hate pink and just because it's a female shoe doesn't mean we all want it to be pink. It's great shoe for overhands and trying to keep on the wall. I like the narrow heel and the precision when using a heel hook. I know I can trust it to stick. i should wear these shoes more often, but being a tiny person, they are so hard to break in.
